Overview
Inglourious Basterds is a film, told in five chapters, about the rise and fall of the Nazi party in an alternate version of Europe. These chapters jump between the storylines of Shosanna Dreyfus, a Jew who evaded the capture of the "Jew Hunter" Hans Landa; and the ragtag band of Jewish soldiers, known as "the Basterds," led by the American Lt. Aldo Raine. Eventually the characters of both storylines converge; while the Basterds plan a suicide mission to assassinate every major member of the Third Reich in a theater unknowingly owned by Shosanna, Shosanna plans to lock everyone within the theater and burn everything to the ground by igniting her collection of nitrate films.
