Overview
A young boy, Dylan Jacobs, suffers from asthma and the inability to speak. His mother dies in a horrifying way and leaves Dylan and his father, Michael, to start over again on their own. When Dylan and Michael move into a new home, Dylan discovers a book filled with spells that includes one for summoning an ancient wish-granting creature known as a Djinn. The book warns that the spell caster might lose their soul with their wish. Dylan uses the book to summon the creature without caring about the potential consequences. When he becomes trapped inside of the house without any hope of escape, Dylan realizes that he must banish the creature to survive. Yet, it knows every trick to manipulate people and convince them to allow it to stay.
