Overview
Ali Jahani, an student from Tehran, earned a wrestling scholarship from a U.S. college. Right before Ali's parents plan to visit him, his father is brutally killed. Although Ali's mother is extremely ill, the embassy refuses to help her leave Iran. Ali needs to make a lot of money as quickly as possible to save her. When Ali's roommate and best friend, Ryan, hears about his situation, he recommends that Ali compete in underground fights. Although the fights are illegal, they pay a lot of money to fighters who win. Yet, Ali must learn to fight brutally and violently if he's going to make top dollar... Ali learns that the fight handler, McClellen, fixes matches to make the most money possible no matter the physical cost to each fighter. Duke, another fighter and trainer who has tried to show Ali the ropes, offers to train him to not merely win, but also survive.
