Author P.L. Travers is reluctant, for many reasons, to sign over the film rights to her novel Mary Poppins. The exuberant filmaker, Walt Disney, is very persuasive and very excited about turning her novel about a one of a kind nanny into a musical movie production. After two weeks of negotiations and reflection on her past and the inspiration for her characters, Travers agrees to embark on the adventure of making her novel into the family film that Disney envisions.
