Overview
Life in modern Rome is revealed in four separate vignettes. One follows newlyweds Milly and Antonio, in Rome for the first time. When they separate, each is seduced by their ideal mate in a zany series of misunderstandings. Another vignette focuses on Leopoldo, whose humdrum life explodes when the media suddenly decides he is the next great celebrity. The third tale transports famous architect John back to his past, where relives a romantic mistake he made years ago. In the last of the interwoven stories, the father of an American girl marrying an Italian man thinks the groom's father is an opera prodigy -- but only when he sings in the bathroom. He arranges for him to perform on stage in a mobile shower.
