A group of children from Monterrey, Mexico overcame the obstacles of poverty and bigotry by winning the Little League World Series in 1957. Thirteen wins in a row gave them the distinction of pitching the only perfect game in the Championship. The boys' determination stemmed from a deep faith in the God of their priest and the coaching of a former major league player with an interesting story. The team of boys with no shoes won the respect and admiration of two nations and coached them in lessons larger than baseball.
