Overview
Set in the deep-south at the height of the civil rights movement, two FBI agents are sent to a small Mississippi town to investigate the disappearance of three civil rights workers, suspected of having been murdered by the Ku Klux Klan. They are greeted with hostility and silence, and the violence escalates as their investigation moves forward. The two agents initially clash, owing to their wildly different styles. Agent Anderson, a former Mississippi cop whose methods are unorthodox, behaves in stark contrast to Agent Ward, who likes to operate "by the book." With the investigation stalling, the pair realizes that to solve the case they will need to put their differences aside and work together to achieve their common goal.
