Overview
The jazz scene in the 1930s and 1940s was a time of creativity and fun in Harlem. Among the most famous locations to enjoy this kind of music was the fabulous Cotton Club which hosted a variety of musicians and guests over the years. For very little money, a customer could enjoy music, dancing , and even some drinks. Although the scene was best known as a paradise, it was also met with corruption, violence, and even occasional police brutality.
