Overview
Arthur is a romantic comedy that explores the values of money and love. Arthur, an unmotivated possible alcoholic, suddenly inherits a family fortune with the stipulation that he must marry a woman named Susan. He comes from an extremely rich and powerful family that deems marriage as the only socially acceptable way to live. Arthur does not have feelings for Susan, but he proposes to her to satiate some of the members of his family, and to collect his fortune. Shortly after making the proposal to Susan, he meets a delightful woman who does not have much money. The sudden introduction to this appealing woman changes things for Arthur in ways he did not imagine. He is then faced with a decision that will alter the course of his life.
