After she is orphaned during the Great Depression, spirited teenager Sonora Webster is forced to live with her unpleasant aunt. Sonora finds solace in her love of horses, but she soon discovers that her aunt wants nothing to do with her and plans to send her to an orphanage. Sonora sneaks away in the middle of the night, arriving at a local county fair where she sees Doc Carver's spectacular diving horses. She begs Doc Carver to let her be his new diving girl, but he is only willing to let her work in the stables. With the help of Doc Carver's son Al, Sonora tries to convince the crotchety showman to let her be the star of his diving extravaganza. |
