Overview
Since his father's suicide, Gilbert Grape has acted as the man of the house. His severely depressed and overweight mother never sets foot outside, leaving the care of his autistic younger brother Arnie up to him. Gilbert finds solace in the arms of a local married woman, but lives in fear that her husband will discover their affair. One day, a nomadic teenage girl named Becky rolls into town with her grandmother, changing Gilbert's life forever.
