Overview
Kate and Larry Mackay give up their cramped apartment in New York City and buy a huge fixer-upper in the country. Together with their four unruly children, they attempt to make a home in upstate New York. Meanwhile, Larry takes advantage of his new job as a theatre critic to enjoy city nightlife. The couple's relationship is strained when he begins spending time with famous actress Deborah Vaughn, and Kate becomes suspicious that he is having an affair.
