Overview
After people destroy Earth's environment, humanity flees to a distant planet in the Kepler system 500 lightyears away. However, it soon becomes apparent that the new planet will not support long-term survival because people are unable to reproduce. Decades later, they send envoys back to Earth but these astronauts vanish. The off-world Earthers try again by sending Blake to survey the situation - but she finds a deeply troubled Earth plagued by catastrophic tides and two surviving factions of Earth people fiercely at war. Nevertheless, Blake must find a way to bring humanity back from their doomed exile in space.
