Love’s Greek to Me

A Hallmark Channel original movie. Ilana, an archaeologist who shelved her dreams of field work to teach, is finally going to meet her Greek boyfriend, hotelier Mike’s family in Greece. Ilana is invited to the wedding of Mike's sister Alexandra on the idyllic island of Santorini where the family runs a luxury hotel. Knowing how important Mike’s family is to him, Ilana is both excited and nervous as she arrives, but Mike has a surprise in store when he proposes to a somewhat reluctant Ilana. Mike’s spirited mother, Athena, treats Ilana like her own daughter, and while teaching Ilana about Greek wedding traditions, she’s also planning Ilana and Mike's big, fat, Greek wedding at the hotel in just six months. Ilana doesn’t see the rush; she and Mike want a long engagement and simple ceremony on the beach. But Athena has other plans; the well-intended mother-in-law-to-be finds herself caught up in wedding planning fever. By encouraging Mike’s sister Alexandra to follow her heart, Ilana unwittingly steps on Athena’s toes. Further complications arise when Ilana learns that Mike wants to move back to Greece and use his MBA to expand the family business. Although Mike believes the move could inspire Ilana to follow her dream of archeological field work, Ilana is uncertain. As wedding preparations mount, tensions rise between Ilana and Mike as she wonders if they’re really meant to be together or if, when it comes to love, it’s all Greek to her.
