Overview
An American nanny, Greta, is hired to care of a family's 8-year-old boy in a remote village in England. Upon arriving for her new job, Greta is shocked to learn that her charge is a life-sized, child-style doll that the family uses to help them with their grief: The parents were never able to move on when they lost their actual son two decades before. Greta chooses to stay with the family and serve as the "boy's" nanny. After Greta violates a list of rules, she begins to question her sanity when several unexplained events make the boy appear alive.
