Overview
An orphaned girl who spent her early years in a convent is ready to take religious vows when her Mother Superior convinces her to meet the only relative she has still alive first. Her aunt, a debauched member of the Communist Party, divulges a secret so profound it sets the young woman on the path of discovering still more disturbing revelations of her past. Some of the darkest chapters of Polish history are explored against the backdrop of one young woman's quest for the truth of her own early years in a series of events that will irrevocably change both her life and the life of her aunt.
