Overview
Manhattan is a period drama about the highly secret Manhattan Project and the dramatic race to build the world's first nuclear weapon. Set in 1943 in the small town of Los Alamos, New Mexico, the show focuses on the lives of the scientists and their families as they live in a world created by the government and kept under absolute secrecy and isolation from the rest of the country. Frank Winter is the physics professor placed in charge of leading the Manhattan project and the series follows his personal battle to balance his work obligations, family, and his growing doubt at what he's creating.
