Overview
Based on a 1956 novel that had to be secretly smuggled out of the Soviet Union, Doctor Zhivago is the story of a Russian army officer's search for the sister of his half-brother throughout World War I and the Russian Revolution. He chases after the girl for many years, writing her beautiful poetry along the way, but is never quite able to connect with her before he dies of a heart attack while chasing after her on a tramway.
