Overview
During Hurricane Katrina, Nolan and Abigail Hayes should be experiencing the joy of first time parenthood. Instead, Abigail goes into labor early and doesn't survive childbirth. The hurricane hits and ravages the area. The hospital loses power and everyone leaves for their own safety. When none of the hospital staff returns to help Nolan, he must use a generator to keep his baby alive. The generator doesn't use fuel because the exhaust fumes wouldn't be good for the sterile hospital environment, so it uses a handcrank. Every few hours, Nolan must crank the generator to keep his infant daughter alive while wondering if either one of them will survive the long hours ahead.
