Inspired by the 1930 novel by William Faulkner, this drama focuses on the journey that the Bundren family makes from their home in Mississippi in order to bring the body of their matriarch Addie to her final resting place in her hometown. But their journey, carefully carrying her coffin atop a carriage, provides them with numerous challenges and obstacles, including an impassable river, a dangerous barn fire, injuries caused by an accident, in addition to the emotional turmoil every member of the family, including father Anse and the couple's five children, is experiencing from their concerted effort to fulfill their spouse and mother's last dying wish. |
