Overview
Isabelle is young and unfettered. She works in a bookstore, gathers with friends on a regular basis, and likes to keep her Jewish grandmother, Bubbie, company. Bubbie thinks Isabelle needs a man so she finds a marriage broker and sets Isabelle up with a pickle salesman, Sam Posner. Isabelle had another man, writer Anton Maes, in mind, so she is not very happy with Bubbie’s prospects. Even though Isabelle is uninterested in Sam, he persists and a bond begins to form. In desperation, Isabelle hooks Sam up with her best friend, but her plans go awry as she realizes that she likes Sam more than she originally thought possible.
