Overview
A strange new psychological compulsion seems to have gripped the residents of a small California town. A number of patients visit a local doctor, Miles Bennell, complaining that their families are no longer who they seem to be. Bennell and the town's psychiatrist, Dan Kauffman, think people are suffering from hallucinations. Then, Bennell and his friend Jack find a body still in development that looks like Jack and another one that looks like Bennell's girlfriend Becky. They realize that people truly are being replaced, but they are unable to call for help outside of town. An alien invasion is underway, and trucks carrying more pod people are being sent out to replace others in other towns. Becky and Bennell must try to stop them.
