A private investigator living in Hawaii is able to strike an ideal balance between work and play. In exchange for providing security, he is allowed to reside in the guesthouse on the expansive vacation estate of an absentee owner. Except for occasional instructions from the estate manager, the detective enjoys extensive use of the property assets, including a red Ferrari. The detective is able to be selective in providing investigation services to clients. His friend owns a helicopter charter service and provides island transportation when needed. Another friend is an entertainment club manager with enough personal contacts to provide useful information to assist in investigations. The private detective keeps work obligations in perspective while experiencing personal contentment in Hawaii.
