Overview
Christina Hawthorne is the chief nurse at a hospital in Richmond, Virginia. While her daughter Camille is her main priority, her patients rate very high with her too. She will fight for a patient's rights even when no one else is joining the battle. As she takes on more of these cases, her fellow nurses begin to understand that their nursing shift is more than just a paycheck. When their hospital closes to merge with a competing hospital, Christina and her fellow nurses are thrust into multiple conflicts as the different work groups vie for power. Christina also becomes involved with the Chief of Surgery, Tom Wakefield. Not long after they marry, they lose a child and infidelity creeps into their relationship. Christina must fight to save her marriage, her patients and her career.
