Overview
During World War II, the rescue of 2,000 British soldiers from the island of Keros seems impossible due to the presence of radar directed guns located on Navarone Island. Allied intelligence composes a team of crack commando officers lead by Major Roy Franklin to get to Navarone by boat in order to destroy the guns. While making their way across the Aegean Sea, their boat, under the guise of a Greek fishing vessel, is boarded by Germans. The team kills the invading party and manages to make it to Navarone, minus some of their equipment due to a storm. Once on land, one of the team is badly injured and they are captured again by Germans, overpowering them to finally complete their mission.
