Overview
Japan in the 17th century is a place of mystery for anyone from England. That is why ship captain Jack Blackthorne has so many problems adjusting when his ship wrecks on the coast of Japan. He is placed in the middle of a feudal war between the two most powerful men in Japan. The two men are battling to see who can earn the title of Shogun, which would offer the winner absolute power over anyone in Japan. Jack is unable to repair his ship to escape the war, so he finds himself trapped in between the two powers. He is unable to choose sides, but he must learn how to navigate the complicated Japanese politics if he is to survive.
