Six friends frequent the Central Perk, their local New York City coffee shop, and share their lives together. Monica Gellar is a slightly neurotic but brilliant chef with a penchant for order. She lives with Rachel Green, a former high school queen of popularity who is now trying to make it on her own, not on her dad's credit card. They live across the hall from Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani. Chandler is a stylish, chain-smoking yuppie who cracks sarcasm at every turn. Joey is a struggling Italian actor whose gullibility is surpassed only by his appetite. Rounding out the group are Monica's brother, Ross Gellar, a paleontologist who has always loved Rachel, and Phoebe Buffay, an eccentric yet lovable hippy/masseuse with her own personal style. The six rely on each other to navigate the world of living as twenty-somethings in New York.
