Overview
Buffy, a typical, popular high school cheerleader, finds out one day that she is the Slayer, destined to fight vampires. She is skeptical, but when her Watcher Merrick starts to train her, she discovers that she has supernatural fighting abilities. With her new powers, she pits herself against Lothos, a vampire king who has killed many previous Slayers. Buffy is joined by Oliver (whose best friend became a vampire) and eventually Buffy and Oliver fall in love. In their first confrontation, Lothos insults Buffy and kills Merrick. Depressed, Buffy temporarily abandons her Slayer duties. But when Lothos attacks her school at the senior dance, Buffy uses a mix of her Slayer skills and cheerleader ingenuity to defeat him once and for all.
