Alice Tate seems to have it all. She is married to a wealthy man and has two beautiful children. However, after meeting a jazz musician she finds attractive, Alice begins to realize she is discontented. Alice goes to a Chinese herbalist named Dr. Yang who gives her herbs that have magical affects. Sometimes the herbs simply help Alice leave behind her inhibitions, but at other times, they make her invisible. She begins to find things out about Joe, the musician she’s attracted to, and also about her own husband. In the end, she decides to leave her husband for Joe, only to discover Joe has gone back to his ex-wife. Alice finds fulfillment instead in beginning to live her life for others. |
