Andie Bergstrom knows she could excel as an astronaut, but she is relegated to Space Camp where she is in charge of several teenagers. With a successful, astronaut husband, Andie takes her frustration out on her camp visitors. With a banished robot, named Jinx, in their group, the teenagers slowly learn about space. They are allowed to observe a real shuttle test sequence, but Jinx takes this opportunity to cause a severe software malfunction. With one shuttle booster set off by Jinx, NASA must activate the other booster, sending the teenagers, Andie and her husband into space. With little oxygen and virtually no supplies, it is up to this rag-tag crew to find oxygen while forming a plan to get back to Earth before the shuttle becomes uninhabitable. |
