Overview
Lawrence Wetherhold is a professor who has become bitter and eccentric since the death of his beloved wife. He has pushed his son away and become self-absorbed. He has influenced his daughter to be introverted and overachieving. But he has achieved a level of balance that leaves him feeling like he has got a handle on things. At that moment, he falls for a former student and is reunited with his irresponsible adopted brother. Despite his great intellect and his ability to get through difficult times, Lawrence finds that life's current circumstances might be more challenging than anything else he faced in the past.
