Overview
In 19th-century Rome, wealthy ex-diplomat Tullio Hermil lives life according to his desires. He openly flaunts his mistress, the beautiful countess Teresa Raff, in front of his long-suffering wife Giuliana. However, the tables are turned when Giuliana meets a fascinating writer and begins a passionate affair. Tullio suddenly finds a renewed interest in his wife and becomes determined to win her back. He travels to the family's country house to convince her to return, but events are already in motion that could tear the couple apart.
