Overview
This Disney release focuses on down on his luck pilot Noah Dugan, who sees his chance to get out of debt when he accepts an assignment piloting a B-29 bomber filled with animals to a South Pacific destination. A prim missionary named Bernadette accompanies him, along with two orphan stowaways. When the plane crash lands, the group encounters Japanese military unaware that World War II ended. Ultimately, Bernadette wins their friendship and the group decides to refashion the plane into a boat as their only hope of rescue. Working on the "Noah's Ark", as their refashioned plane is christened, Dugan and Bernadette begin a romantic relationship. Humans and animals alike survive the threatening seas, rescued by U.S. Coast Guard staff, and Noah and Bernadette marry.
