Nonni and Harry seem like very different people, and when they first meet, they don't like each other much. However, they are about to spend a lot more time in each other's company because they are the sole survivors of a vicious attack that left their gamekeeper parents dead. Now, they must flee the poachers that launched the attack, since they are witnesses to the crime and can put these murderers behind bars. The only way forward is across the Kalahari Desert, a forbidding journey that they decide they must undertake. A bushman named Xhabbo agrees to help them in their quest. As they struggle to survive in the desert, they become friends in spite of their differences and hone their unique and life-saving abilities. |
