Living in the Louisiana Bayou isn't easy for young Bobby Boucher, especially with his domineering mother keeping him from spreading his wings. With a debilitating stutter, Bobby resigns himself to being a football game waterboy. The fun is about to begin for Bobby. With a helpful coach encouraging his every move, Bobby accidentally finds his true calling as a football player. Concentrating his anger at other players, he tackles his way into everyone's heart. Bobby's mother is ready to stop all of this nonsense, but with Bobby's friends and love interest supporting his career, she is at a loss to keep her son sheltered. Fantastic characters combine to bring Bobby out of the Bayou and into college life where he can shine. Will his mother allow all of this?
