This is the story or an interpretation of the end-time prophesies of the Bible. These predictions were tied in with 1970s events and interpreted as to how they might be played out in the 1980s. Focusing on the Books of Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation the interpretation was that key events might happen in the 1980s, as it seemed to be one generation from the time when Israel was founded in the late 1940s. Natural disasters such as famines and earthquakes were said to be occurring with more frequency, thus giving weight to the argument that the end of the world was imminent. The European Economic Community was said to be a forerunner of the European Confederacy, which the Antichrist is prophesied to rule over. It was said that all planets would align in 1982, which would be terribly dangerous for the earth. |
