In the 1940s, Elizabeth Short was found mutilated with the sides of her mouth slit from ear-to-ear in a gruesome rendition of the Glasgow Grin. Two cops, Bucky Bleichert and Lee Blanchard, have been assigned the case with the promise of department fame if they can find Short’s ungodly killer. Dubbed the Black Dahlia by the press, Bucky fights to unravel the mysteries that lie within his hometown after discovering his own girlfriend was an acquaintance of the deceased. He also finds himself tangled in an illicit love triangle with his partner and Blanchard’s femme fatale fiancee. When his partner seems less-than-thrilled about seriously finding Short’s murderer, Bucky takes it upon himself to investigate an upper-crust family – The Linscott. But his dive into their lives could mean the end of his own.
