Laura Burney really wants to get away from Martin, her abusive and controlling husband. However, he's promised that they'll be together forever, so Laura knows the only way to escape is to make Martin believe she's dead. Her opportunity comes during a night sail when the weather goes bad. Martin believes she can't swim and she slips overboard, swims to shore and makes a run from Massachusetts to Iowa where she meets all around nice guy and college drama teacher, Ben. All is well until Martin makes all the connections and tracks Laura down to her home. Creepy undertones prevail as Martin stalks her around her quaint little town, menacing locals and watching Laura and Ben from the bushes. However, Laura has the last word. |
