Overview
Diminutive Simon Birch is declared a miracle baby when he survives a disorder that keeps him from growing normally. Despite his infirmity, he manages to stay positive, inspiring his best friend Joe, who feels like an outcast because of his illegitimate origins. Simon is convinced that he destined to perform great feats and be a true hero. Despite criticism from every side, Simon holds on to his belief that he is fated to perform heroic deeds. Meanwhile, their close relationship is threatened when a sudden tragedy threatens to derail the boys' friendship.
