The adventures of Robin Hood are brought to life in this adaptation of the classic legend. Robin Longstride is a lowly archer and deserter from the King’s army. He and his comrades come upon an attack upon English forces traveling back to England with the slain king’s crown. Robin and his men help chase off the attackers, but not before the attackers slay the escort party. As he lay dying, Sir Robert Loxley pleads with Robin to return his sword to his father in Nottingham. Robin assumes the role of Sir Loxley, and delivers the crown back to England. He then goes to Nottingham, where he finds Sir Loxley’s father, Sir Walter and widow, Lady Marian. Sir Walter implores Robin to continue acting as Sir Loxley so that Lady Marian can keep her land. Wary at first, she soon warms up to Robin, as she sees how he deals with the villagers and the corrupt Nottingham government.
